ADMIN COUNCIL CHAIR

Margie Stark joined the Dakota City United Methodist Church in 2013. She’s been Finance Committee Chairperson since 2020 and is also involved with TeamKids, VBS and attends Wednesday Morning Bible Study at Dakota City UMC.

MUSICIAN, BIBLE STUDY LEADER, LAY LEADER AND LEADERSHIP TEAM

Karen McClain is a lifetime Methodist. She was a UMC pastor’s wife, serving numerous Nebraska communities until her husband, Ken, passed away in 2002. She Returned to Dakota City where she grew up and has enjoyed helping DC UMC in whatever ways she could: Musician, Bible study leader, Lay Leader & Leadership Team.

FINANCIAL AND MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY

Carol Obermeyer has been a member of Dakota City United Methodist Church for over 70 years and now serves as financial and membership secretary as part of the DC UMC Leadership Team. She enjoys being a part of bible studies, Teamkids, and Vacation Bible School.

TRUSTEES CO-CHAIRS

Brandon & Cassandra Spahn wear many hats at Dakota City UMC. Most recently, they became co-chairs of our Trustees leadership. As such, they are responsible for the maintenance and use of the building and church property. They have wonderful mentors to assist them as they grow into this new position. Both have grown up in the local area and have a love for the church.
In addition to being our trustees, Brandon & Cassandra are most often found on Sunday mornings running our sound and livestream equipment. Cassandra is an important part of our Wednesday evening “Team Kids” program and leads our young children and pre teens through important Scriptural life lessons.

VOLUNTEERS

Shelly Anderson and Sherry Munhofen: These two ladies are ALWAYS doing something in the church or in the community to share God’s love. On Sundays, they light our candles and greet those coming into God’s house. They are also important volunteers in almost every ministry we have at the church. They have a love for outreach and are a part of our Parish Outreach Committee. They are also sisters!

TREASURER, LITURGIST, AND WITNESS, KITCHEN AND MISSIONS TEAMS

Pat Lane has been a member of Dakota City UMC since April 1954. Currently she serves as treasurer, liturgist, and is a member of the Witness, Kitchen and Mission Teams.

KITCHEN TEAM CHAIR

Barb Strong has been a member of the Dakota City UMC since 1957. She is currently on the Witness team, the Kitchen team, and a Liturgist.
